Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988) by Liam U — 26 Nov 2011
Not very good, and a huge disappointment after the great third entry. It's nice to see the Dream Warriors return, just a shame they don't last very long. The new characters drafted in and lined up for the kill are all rather dull and acting is at an all time low. Robert Englund as Freddy is still a joy to watch, and really is this film's only saving grace despite the fact he is turning into a comedic character spouting one liners like James Bond before dispatching the kids. Freddy's resurrection is also incredibly laughable, surely a better way of bringing him back could have been thought up.
Watched for a second time, man, did they think they were making a comedy? Freddy's ressurrection is just so incredibly stupid, and then the movie dispatches the kids faster than we can even catch their name. So silly.
