Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) by Jake M — 26 Mar 2013
This is an incredible horror movie. It's dark, creepy, extremely well done. The directing is solid, the script is tight, and the performances - while sort of amateur, are enthusiastic and lively. The kills are some of the best of the series.
What I love about this movie, beyond the series finding its grounding, is subject matter. Suicidal teens must deal with their problems through their dreams. Their problems manifest as Freddy Kruger and I love it. Anyone who has suffered trauma will instantly connect with these kids and their nightmares. Its a very empowering horror movie... and that feels very strange to say.
