Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) by David L — 28 Sep 2012
A true masterclass in fantasy horror and a much improved edition than the last entry. In truth, this would have provided a better sequel to the original given that it brings back a few of its original surviving cast members, plus adds a few other up and coming stars of the future.
It links in much more to the initial storyline and has also developed what appears to have been a greater range of special effects which feature prominently in this episode, and add to both the comical value and gore factor! There is a much bigger focus on the characters in this one, each with their own unique backgrounds and traits, some of which will unfortunately play a harrowing part in their individual nightmare.
Admittedly, It's never going to be a horror that will scare anyone when watching, just like the others, but the series has successfully continued to entertain and improve, and ultimately Mr Kruger will yet again no doubt still be playing on peoples minds when they're next getting ready for forty winks.
