Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) by Jamie F — 23 Sep 2012
I waited 2 years to see this dud, after hearing NOTHING but negative reviews. I finally caved in, I had to see how bad this was for myself. I liked the opening credits sequence, sadly it all went downhill after that.
How could anyone at Warner/New Line could watch the finished product and not want to keep it OUT of theaters and make it a direct to DVD title?? Better yet, not release it all. Jackie Earle Haley, I'm sure, tried his best, but the Freddy character is totally associated with Robert Englund.
Freddy's look, style, personality all came for the actor himself. Now, I'm not sure anyone else could have done a better job or not, but I'd say the casting for a new Freddy should not have stopped at Jackie Earle Haley.
The makeup job on Freddy is horrible, he doesn't even look the slightest bit scary. He seems to have fish eyes and his whole face is just ridiculous. That face, that face, hahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!
