Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) by James C — 17 Jan 2013
A decent but flawed attempt.
It seems whenever Michael Bay's name is mentioned to avid movie fans, his work is instantly frowned upon. Neither a fan of Bay myself, I did assume the film would bomb with movie critics. The matter of fact is I disregarded the critical reviews and viewed the film with narrow hopes that the remake of the infamous 1984 horror classic would live up to the original. It didn't come close. Nevertheless, it was a delight. The atmosphere throughout is murky and enticing, the casting nor brilliant or perfect, does prosper. The CGI make-up department however, needs room for improvement.
