Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) by Trevor K — 19 Mar 2013
The film is scary and has it's moments. The storyline has adapted quite reasonably and the new Freddy is sinister to the extreme. However, the other performances didn't make this film live up to any horror standards.
Rooney Mara's performance was the most disappointing. Rooney's portrayal of Nancy is bland making Nancy a character that we honestly don't care for. The best performances came from Haley and Cassidy, the two who made the film watchable.
If you like the Freddy movies, still see this film, but If you want an ingenue lead that you care for, look elsewhere.
