Review of A Night to Remember (1958) by Scott S — 03 Sep 2008
This is not the slow drama I thought it would be. It's a fast-paced thriller disaster movie that refrains from easy sentiment or a long exposition. It's like the last half of James Cameron's movie, focusing almost completely on the sinking, and without any fictional characters at all.
It's not produced on quite the same epic scale that TITANIC was, but the production values were still pretty extraordinary. A NIGHT TO REMEMBER definitely holds up 50 years later.
