Review of A Night to Remember (1958) by Dillon H — 05 Apr 2012
An almost documentary-like equivalent to Cameron's epic melodrama. It's slightly patriotic tinted depiction of the events that took place are broader but just as effective. The brooding sense of devastation, an unsettling level of calmness that slowly descends to panic is truly distressing to watch.
Coupled with some strong performances. Beautifully shot and despite being dated, the model ship holds up pretty well and has a good sense of weight however (obviously) can't match the visual splendor of that other Titanic movie.
.. A must for all those wanting to see just how the events took place.
