Review of A Night at the Opera (1935) by Brian M — 07 May 2007
A drawback of this movie is that when they were making it the director purposely inserted pauses between jokes based on how long audiences had laughed during previews (apparently so the audience wouldn't miss half of the jokes).
The problem is that it took away from the fast pace and quick wit that was a Marx Brothers trademark and seems to make the movie slow.
