Review of A Night at the Opera (1935) by Ray R — 26 Nov 2007
One of the true great comedies, this has the Marx Bothers at their very best, the tale of taking an unknown Italian opera singer to star at the New York Met is fairy tale stuff and the way the brothers steel almost every scene is hilarious.
Of particular note is the sequence in the cabin on the ship, and I love it when Groucho comes through the opera house stalls peddling peanuts. And remember รข?? their aint no Sanity Claus.
