Review of A Night at the Opera (1935) by Jordan K — 26 Aug 2009
Groucho's quirky statements come off easily in this funny film. The stateroom scene and the final opera night scene are the funniest but the whole thing is funny and enjoyable. The Marx Brothers perform their parts well, and Harpo's constant hitting people on the head is hilarious.
Though The Marx Brothers are generally funny, I never find their stuff quite as funny as say Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello or the Three Stooges. This film though I found much funnier than previous ones I've seen of theirs.
