Review of A Night at the Opera (1935) by Bobby B — 04 Mar 2011
Marx. Imprescindible..........Wonderful comedy of the Marx brothers that has the gewgaw of 76 years and is still so fresh as the day of the premiere.
The best movie of the Marx together with soup of goose that memorable scenes include as that of the berth, the contracting party .. etc.. It is a comedy, one tells the history of love and the musical one of everything in one.
Hilarious conversations and surrealistic scenes but desternillantes complete the movie. A parable on the perversity of pride and a singing to the humility. Besides the Marx brothers there controls it always omnipresent Margaret Dumont (fantastic this aristocratic freightage) to that Groucho submits to continuous changes love - hatred.
Well the director Sam Wood who could extract the better thing of the Marx brothers. Indispensable.
