Review of A Most Violent Year (2014) by Anthony C — 12 Jan 2015
To some, JC Chandor's subtle piece will be an absolute favourite of the year. Fans of The Godfather, The Sopranos and Drive will no doubt find this compelling viewing. It's nicely directed by Chandor and well acted by all involved.
But the plot itself feels as though it's missing something that makes it beyond what it already is. And I think that may the point of the filmmaking, but for me that left it feeling a bit short.
