Oh, I really wanted to like A MOST VIOLENT YEAR more than I did. How could a cast of such talented people, especially Oscar Isaac--fresh off from his powerful performance in INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS--all be so monotonous and misguided? How could such a fascinating story be so poorly executed and have such terrible pacing? It's because this film has already been made with better characters and a more engaging plot--AMERICAN HUSTLE.
