Review of A Most Violent Year (2014) by Syed R — 14 Jan 2015
It's a very subdued crime/gangster film. They really did a great job recreating 1981 New York. Everyone was great in this, David Oyelowo, Jessica Chastain, Albert Brooks, and especially Oscar Isaac who is pretty much playing Michael Corleone.
It's a slow burn yet the movie hooks you by the performances and also French Connection influenced action scenes.
