Review of A Most Violent Year (2014) by Kevin L — 21 Jun 2015
As has already been commented this is an anti-gangster movie. examining the economic conditions that breed crime and how it affects those caught in the cross-fire, this is a taught and superbly realised piece of adult film-making - the likes of which we see all too rarely this century.
Chastain steals the show, but Issac grounds the film as a new spin on Michael Corleone. JC Chandor is fast becoming his generations Coppola.
