Review of A Mighty Wind (2003) by Tibor B — 03 Dec 2009
Christopher Guests's gentle mockumentary style is turned on the 60s folk music scene, in the form of a revival concert. As usual with Guest there is a nice mix of subtle humour in the accuracy of details and more obvious laughs, along with some great characters and decent songs.
The target here is not quite as rich in comedy as the absurdity of rock in Spinal Tap, but there is a broader range of characters, even if a couple of actors, particularly Levy as folk icon Mitch, push a bit too far.
