Review of A Mighty Wind (2003) by Roddy W — 12 Dec 2009
This is a masterclass in comedy. Subtle, moving, and somehow genuinely embracing its subject matter while at trhe same time using it as a vehicle for comedy. I wouldn't have known anything about this film had I not recently attended the Spinal Tap one night only workld tour.
The support group was The Folksmen, one of the folk bands in this film who are brought together for atribute concert to their late manager. Using his usual mockumentary style, Christopher Guest has created a small masterpiece here, which is woefully underrated.
