Review of A Mighty Heart (2007) by Wendy B — 02 Jan 2009

Watched this last night on DVD. Mariane Pearl was deeply in love with her husband Daniel and carrying their son when Daniel was kidnapped in Karachi Pakistan. This movie based on Mariane's book details the efforts she and her friends and Pakistand and American officials made to find Daniel.

I've never been a fan of Jolie but she does a great job of portraying the strength and passion of Mariane. The supporting actors, especially Archie Panjabi who portrays the Indian journalist friend in whose house the Pearls were staying, were also great.

I thought the handheld camera technique was very appropriate for this movie.
