As a guy, it's refreshing to see a movie where a wife isn't shooting a husband or a girlfriend isn't villifying a boyfriend or something to that effect (see anything by Ashley Judd). We all get it. MEN ARE PIGS. Get over yourself. Not only is "Mariane" fighting for "Danny" but that motivation is the focal point of the story; overshadowing even the heavy Pakistani political implications. My take on it is that the bad guys just want to get in our heads and if we allow that they win.

Angelina Jolie wasn't Angelina Jolie in this movie...she was "Mariane Pearl". You know what I mean? I tend to lean towards projects that are based on actual events. Compare this to her earlier work (e.g. Life or Something Like That or Pushing Tin) and it's like night and day. We all want to improve at something but how many of us actually do-the-do? It's like all those New Years resolutions that don't survive the winter. In A Mighty Heart, Jolie - once again - proves herself to be a true Grandmaster. Love the accent. Love the hair. Love the performance. Two thumbs up!

"Do you understand that maybe you can make the difference of helping Danny or nobody finds him? Maybe nobody finds him because you won't give the f---g name!" - Marian to a source.
