Review of A Map of the World (1999) by Maresy Z — 29 Jul 2007
One of the most heartbreaking films I have ever seen. Unfortunately the direction for this film was poor, and the movie was quite slow-moving, but the story of Alice (Sigourney Weaver) and her journey through her difficult season of life is astounding.
Sigourney Weaver, with her oscar worthy performance, shows us a woman who is a mother, a lover, a farmer, a school-nurse, a woman who has depression, an emotional melt-down, a prison inmate, and a truth-teller.
Her performance is flawless and riveting. Worth watching just for her performance.
