Review of A Little Princess (1995) by Charles M — 07 Dec 2009
Heart warming, is the first description that comes to mind after having watched the film 14 years after its initail release. Mr.Cuaron, who avidly proved his directing abilities in the stunning Children Of Men, proves himself capable of telling a multitude of different genres of stories, and even if this one is a childrens tale, it can capture the heart of almost any adult.
The UPS:
1. Wonderful cinematography, especially the Attic sequence.
2. Remembering the magic of childhood.
3. Great Locations and Decorations.
4. Believable child actor performances.
The DOWNS:
1. The antagonist is somewhat too stereotypical.
2. Some presight as to what may happen throughout the film.
3. Aged CGI graphics during dream/storytime sequences.
4. Target audience somewhat too directed towards women.
