Review of A Letter to Three Wives (1949) by Jeffrey K — 29 Nov 2007
Terrific ensemble cast, and a premise that holds interest right to the end. I saw this in a theatre with a fairly good sound system, and I recall one subtle but striking touch: one of the wives is thinking about the letter while she's on the ship, and when her flashbacks end, she's at the railing thinking "Is it Brad?" and rhythm of the ship's engines repeats the nagging question until the scene fades out.
Mank wasn't foolin' around!
