Review of A Late Quartet (2012) by Andrew L — 11 Apr 2013
This is a really good movie. This is one of those movies that doesn't have to just depend on good acting. The story itself is very simple, it's about a quartet and the lives of each of the members.
The simplicity of the story allowed the direction to take over quite masterfully. Throughout the movie you hear recurring pieces of music and it is accompanied by the characters feeling the same emotions as the music speeds up or slows down.
The acting was very well done. Christopher Walken gives a great performance, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman follows right behind him. The whole cast does a great job, but those two made the movie special.
Definitely worth the rent.
