Review of A History of Violence (2005) by Don S — 18 Feb 2013
I'm a Cronenberg fan, so I know what to expect when it comes to the surrealism and overt sexuality in his movies. The story stretches believability in the events portrayed, which also is nothing new for Cronenberg.
I enjoyed the inanity of it all, but the others who watched it with me found it less appealing. Mortensen's performance is deliciously understated, but Bello, Harris and Hurt are all fantastic as well.
