Review of A Haunted House 2 (2014) by The V — 22 Apr 2014
This sequel to 'A Haunted House' isn't quite as hilarious. It's more like the Scary Movie 2 of parodies. This time around movies like The Conjuring, Insidious, The Possession and Sinister are all spoofed with Marlon Wayans continuing his character from the first movie.
This time he's with a white woman and her two children. The boy has an imaginary friend named Tony while the teenage girl becomes strangely attached to a mysterious box. Wayans himself becomes attached to Annabelle, the freaky doll from the movie The Conjuring.
He bangs the living crap out of the doll through most of the film and creates a Fatal Attraction scenario when the doll won't leave him alone. The scenes with the doll were hilarious. Sick, but hilarious.
Previous characters from the first movie pop up. Like the priest and the convict cousin. Much of the film is devoted to Interracial jokes, fart jokes, racist jokes and bunch others like in the first movie.
Except this time the jokes are more slapdash than in the first movie. Still it's not as bad as the critics have made it out to be and works well as dumb parody to horror movies.
