Review of A Hard Day (2014) by Chantal B — 17 Sep 2015
What makes the humour work is how unexpected and piece-meal it is. Serious action and pounding tension make way for a funny laugh as the villain hides in a bathroom stall or a mechanical toy malfunctions at just the wrong moment, it undercuts what other films would allow to be pompous badassery.
Great to see with an amused theatre, as each person will find their own funny moments.
