Review of A Guy Thing (2003) by Liam U — 30 Jun 2009
It's light fluffy entertainment, nothing hilariously funny and nothing particularly brilliant either. I'm a fan of Jason Lee, but he was woefully underused. He has proven he can perform excellently given the right material, but this was just too weak to really work well with him.
Julia Stiles shines, playing her part just right, and the support case aren't bad. As the plot unfolds however a subplot involving Lochlyn Munro gets ridiculously overblown and becomes not only unnecessary but also somewhat irritating.
A couple of the jokes throughout work well, but overall this is really just average disengaging easy going entertainment.
