Review of A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006) by Jens T — 17 Nov 2008
This is an intense, extraordinary experience, brought to life by a great many talented actors giving their all. What is truly interesting however is Montiel's direction, which thanks to DoP Eric Gautier provides the film with a lot of its superb energy, but is also curiously quite clearly an amateur's effort, with Montiel not knowing all facets of filmmaking, but this liberates him by not being tied to many of its rules.
A truly electrifying experience.
