Review of A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006) by Sma A — 13 Aug 2012
This movie amazed me it keep me thinking all night, so much that I couldnt sleep. thats why it is in my top five movies of all time. shia did an amzing job and tatum as well he reminded me as young marlon brando but more hardcore, I thought that monty the father was played perfectly.
I felt so bad for the relationship of dito and his father. it was so sad and real. it was the kind of movie every great writter trys to write and this writter did it perfectly.i think what made it feel so raw and real was becuase it was a tru story.
I thought that at some points they were make it to much like a art film, it works and I loved it but I thought that if it was more contempary and natural it would have felt more real. I thought that rosario dawson did a horriable job with a shitty queens accent and the girl who played a younger her out acted her.
robert downey jr was ok nothing as special as shia or tatum. I cant state enough how real this movie is it touched upon real emotions and real life with the realtionship of dito and his father. I loved this movie and if it was more well known theres not a doubt that it would be a classic.
