Review of A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006) by Kristen S — 08 Jun 2008
The director tried way too hard to be edgy and flashy with his editing, and it ended up distracting from the story. The story itself either A)went way over my head or B) really confused/offended me. I don't mean to give too much away, but I hate that the main character is given such a hard time for escaping a bad situation, and in the end, he expresses sorrow and guilt for doing so.
He improved his own life, and apologized for doing so because his family didn't like it. Shia LaBeouf was miscast, and as good as both Robert Downey Jr. and Rosario Dawson were, I cannot believe that they are the same age difference as their younger counterparts.
Downey is handsome, and looks great for his age, but he is NOT Rosario Dawson's age.
