Review of A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006) by Tom H — 01 Jul 2008
A rather good autobiographical film from writer-director Dito Montiel, AGTRYS is a gritty film that's not afraid to pull any punches, and isn't the sort of glowing commendation of the subject that other biopics tend to be.
Montiel refuses to glorify anyone in his film, even himself, and with solid performances from most involved, as well as an understated style that suits the film perfectly, it is a quietly good debut.
