Review of A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006) by Pamela A — 23 Dec 2009
This isn't your averge coming of age drama, this movie is special. It's special and I have no idea why. This film is a film that I thought studios were too afraid to make anymore. It's raw and gritty, and it doesn't follow any cliche happy ending.
This movie abuses it's audience by forcing it to shut up and endure. It's a tough movie that almost forces the viewer to flinch. A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints doesn't go for the sappy Lifetime Network feel, it's a gritty, awkward, uncomfortable experience.
If you have a weak stomach, or cannot be mature in anyway, don't even go near this thing. It's as powerful as staring into the face of God himself. A true masterpiece!
