Review of A Goofy Movie (1995) by Matthew G — 17 Nov 2012
I know this movie's not really liked by many, but I personally like it to be honest. The movie adaptation of the Disney show Goof Troop sets the plot during the summer after Max graduates middle school (I think), but he upstages the principal in order to impress his crush Roxanne which gets him in trouble.
The principal tells Goofy, Max's father about it, but does so in such a way that it makes Goofy worried. Man, I hate Principal Mazur. The romance between Max and Roxanne is cute, and most characters are likable.
There are some dark moments in it, even a few moments where it's truly intense, but it's largely lighthearted fun. Max and Roxanne make for such a cute couple, that I wish Roxanne made more appearances.
The animation is all right, though it's not consistent at times, and some of the music (sung and unsung) really stands out to me. The plot is good, and I think the movie is very likable.
