And I thought that "Live Free or Die Hard" was bad. This fifth movie is awful. Never a good sign for a big action movie when the first action scene starts and you begin to drift to sleep. Once I woke myself up I just felt bored, probably because our hero, wisecracking John McClaine is now just a grumpy old man who looks bored to be there himself.

What made "Die Hard" fun was that you have this everyman cop in smaller action scenarios. I didn't find the story believable, I didn't find McClaine to be any fun anymore, and his irritating son is just a jerk who hates his dad and is played by bland CIA man.

I found it increasingly frustrating that McClaine was constantly criticizing the "having a plan," when ever it ran into issues, but none of the issues would have arisen had he not shown up to fuck it all up in the first place.

That and he keeps saying he is on vacation...yet the whole point of the movie isn't that he was on vacation, he was coming to help his son who he thought was in trouble. Awful movie...how much worse could this series get?
