Review of A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014) by Kevin R — 08 Dec 2015
Are you a good boy?
In a small Iranian town the city is stalked at night by a serial killer...a vampire. The vampire is selective and tries not to kill children, but may if they aren't a good boy or girl. One of the vampire's victims may begin to turn and be blip in the lone vampire's smooth gig.
"I can take your eyes out of your skull and give them to the dogs to eat.".
Ana Lily Amirpour, director of the upcoming The Bad Patch, delivers A Girls Walks Home Alone at Night in her major motion picture directorial debut. The storyline for this film is very entertaining and well told. The feel of the film was dark and dramatic and reminded me of Let the Right One In. The cast delivered the characters well.
"Whose cat is that?".
"It's mine.".
I came across this recently on Netflix when it was added this past Halloween season. This was a worthwhile addition to the foreign film horror genre. This isn't perfect, or an all time classic, but it is worth a viewing.
"What a gentleman. My knees are weak.".
Grade: B.
