Review of A Ghost Story (2017) by Steve R — 05 Aug 2017
I saw this movie after reading many non-critic reviews, so I was not surprised or put off by the long, (self?)indulgent shots. If you give the director the benefit of the doubt and put together what he's trying to convey in each scene, then the movie is really good.
Granted, it's not for everyone. If you want horror, too bad. The main emotion I felt from this was ennui. If you want to be spoon-fed a predictable plot, you're out of luck. I needed to work at figuring out each scene, but the director kindly gave me ample time to do that.
