Review of A Dog's Purpose (2017) by Mindy H — 29 Jan 2017
I'm a huge fan of W. Bruce Cameron's books, especially A Dog's Purpose and A Dog's Journey. So I came to this movie with high expectations. And it did not disappoint! The author and his wife co-wrote the screenplay, so the heart and soul of the books were in the film.
I saw this movie twice, once at an advance screening at Showcase Springdale in Cincinnati with my husband and adult children, and again on opening day at the Rave Dayton South with my dad, step-mom and grandmother.
Half of us had read the book beforehand, the other half hadn't. It didn't matter. We all absolutely LOVED this touching, heart-warming, funny film. You will laugh, you will cry, you will laugh some more, and then you'll leave the theatre ready to adopt a(nother) dog.
I sure hope they make A Dog's Journey into a movie also.
