Despite the horrible news about the dog being abused, I actually enjoyed this movie. Wasn't great, but I'd say it's a solid family film. There are some inconsistencies, cliches, and pacing issues, but I think it's passable.
If you're an animal lover, I think you'd like this movie. Or if you're looking for a film to see with your family, it's pretty neat. Try not to let the news get in the way of watching the film.
