Screw the critics - this is one fantastic movie!! It'll make you tear up from both sad and happy emotions, almost as quickly as the winds change! This dad and his 14 and 10 year old boys loved this movie from start to finish.
It's a 'buyer' which will become part of our family's collection as soon as possible. A truly family friendly movie, I can't recall any vulgarity or objectional content - something rare from Hollywierd these days! The story has no mention of religious overtones - either for or against any religious concepts and beliefs.
The reincarnation element is integral to the story but is not specifically reinforced as a religious philosophy. The actors did a great job of telling the story and projected their character's human emotion with great skill and effectiveness.
The cinematography was top-tier with good camera angles, exposures and coloration. A Dog's Purpose makes the rest of the world understand what it means to be a 'Dog Person' and shows why dogs are so endeared as 'Man's Best Friend!!'.
