Review of A Dirty Shame (2004) by Darren S — 09 Apr 2008
Let's go sexing! A Dirty Shame is a bit of a shame, but worth a view to see John Waters' starlet Mink Stole. The director that gave us trashy, campy, b-grade classics such as Pink Flamingo, Female Trouble and the original Hairspray.
I don't think Waters has been able to live up to his early budget movies, the humour is there but it all seems like something is missing. The soundtrack is excellent and harks back to the ole days of Divine et al, but it does feel a little contrived.
I did, however, discover my inner hornbag.
