Review of A Dirty Shame (2004) by Jason D — 18 Nov 2008
John Waters is at it again! Only he could make such a vile and vulgar, sex-riddled film of sexual perversion and depravity seem so damn silly. Tracy Ullman is an unhappy store clerk who gets bumped on the noggin and becomes a nymphomaniac.
She's not just any old run-of-the-mill nympho, as Johnny Knoxville's sexual healing persona informs her that she is number 12 of 12 sex addicted apostles who are determined to discover a new sexual adventure.
Chris Issak plays the husband and Selma Blair plays their sex addicted, Triple-Z titty-sized daughter. The film manages to spark a few laughs here and there, but a lot of the jokes do fall flat. It is fun to see just how far John Waters goes, which is pretty damn far, mind you.
Yeah, the movie has its ups and downs, but it's not too bad. It's no Crybaby though.
