Review of A Dangerous Method (2011) by Dave L — 01 Apr 2012
Compelling historical figures for sure decorate a talky movie from David Cronenberg. This certainly feels like a departure for the director. After watching this film about the beginnings of psychoanalysis, I felt I would be better served by actually reading about the psychological theory.
That's a shame because the performances by Viggo Mortensen and Michael Fassbender are amazing especially Mortensen. The script and story do not do them justice. While not being a bad movie, its not spectacular either.
