Review of A Dangerous Method (2011) by Harry H — 06 Aug 2012
Not a movie for everyone but I thoroughly enjoyed this. Keira Knightley was hypnotic as the first deranged then seductive Sabina, while Michael Fassbender makes a convincing Jung torn between his convictions and his passions.
Even Sarah Gadon does an excellent job as his doting and forgiving wife while Freud is stoutly played by Viggo Mortensen. The battle of whits between Jung and Freud could have had more dialogue but you get the emotional tension with the few lines devoted to that subject.
Anyway you are too immersed in the perversion of the seductress, just as must as Jung must have been. No car crashes or shoot outs but a movie in the old style, that involves the viewer and challenges your imagination.
