Review of A Dangerous Method (2011) by John P — 21 Aug 2012
I remember David Cronenberg for his early alternate horror films like They Came From Within, Rabid, The Brood, Scanners, and so many others that distinguished him from others. I see this same thing in his recent films.
His movies are eloquent, well acted, and smoothly laid out. No one, however, is like him. He is, to me, an easily understood version of David Lynch. A Dangerous Mind is not his best film. I would have 3 or four easily ahead of it, maybe more, but it is well acted, Viggo and Fassenberger are excellent, as is Knightly.
It was just a smooth journey that never pulled me in.
