Review of A Cure for Wellness (2017) by Pratik J — 03 Feb 2017
I saw the movie yesterday at a preview show. It was bizarre but in a good way. The scenes are sometimes graphic, sometimes thrilling but beautiful set pieces nevertheless. It had a lot of similarities with Shutter Island, Stepford Wives in the creepiness factor. The set was reminiscent of The Shinning which is a great compliment. Acting was good, and the atmosphere gets to you right away - The chilling and crisp Alpine scenery is great.
I enjoyed it for it's weirdness and strength to be different yet suspenseful. But it's a bit too long, with repeated scenes, and a confusing plot which can be considered as good or bad. In my case it dragged the movie a bit down. But recommended for people who want to get something different.
