Review of A Cure for Wellness (2017) by Brian S — 08 Jun 2018
I think A Cure for Wellness is one of the weirdest horror flicks to have come out in recent years. The cinematography and visuals are amazing, and the acting is also pretty good. It also boasts a sense of discomfort and paranoia right from the beginning of the film, with giving you the feeling that something is wrong.
I can't deny that it's a creepy flick, but it's got a few undeniable flaws. The main on is the almost 2h30 runtime, which can be quite long for some, as well as the unnecessary use of CGI, and some of the elements of the story being pretty far-fetched, even for fictional standards.
But overall, it can be an effective movie, if you watch it with an open mind and it's still worth a look!
