Review of A Cock and Bull Story (2005) by Jams G — 28 Sep 2008
An incredibly ambitious project, with an excellent cast giving by and large a good performance, with Coogan very good and Brydon excellent throughout. The lack of focus is clearly intentional in order to reflect the novel's structure, but this doesn't always come off entirely well, and by the end I was growing a little tired of not knowing what I was watching.
The format is clever, but has been done much better in the Merchant and Gervais TV series 'Extras'. Enjoyable, but nothing outstanding.
