Review of A Clockwork Orange (1971) by Graham M — 13 Dec 2012
This is without a doubt one of my favourite films. Stanley Kubrick directs it brilliantly, following Anthony Burgess's novel page-by-page, literally. Obviously a very controversial film, you have to look past the violence, the raping and the general negativity of the film to see its true message.
As Anthony Burgess wrote and the prison priest said, "When a man cannot choose, he ceases to be a man at all." Consider those words when you watch the film and hopefully you'll appreciate it for the work of art it truly is, not the ideological inhuman mess people assume it is.
