Review of A Christmas Story 2 (2012) by Amanda H — 08 Jan 2013

This wasn't quite as horrible as I expected it to be, but it can't hold a candle to the original film, which is one of my all-time favorites. The difference between the two is mostly in the highly overstylized acting.

While the first one had a feel of nostalgia and authenticity, this one is just... cheese. It comes across almost like a parody, and I'm not sure that was the intent. I found Daniel Stern's performance to be particularly annoying and over-the-top.

There's a cute enough story, and I was more or less entertained, but it's no where near as good as the classic it shares a name with.
